About SCSA
Recognizing the need to preserve and promote the local seafood,
aquaculture, and mariculture industries and their
heritage, Micah LaRoache, a Wadmalaw Island
descendent and commercial seafood dock owner formed
the South Carolina Seafood Alliance. The Alliance
was formed in 2000 to provide a central forum for
promoting, educating and informing South Carolinians
about the State's aquatic food industries. From
fishermen and growers, to docks, to wholesale, to
retail, to restaurants, to consumers, members of the Alliance represent all aspects of the
industries and all those who value, support and
promote local consumption.
Mission
The mission of the South Carolina Seafood Alliance is to support the state's seafood industry by sustaining the production of and enhancing demand for South Carolina seafood products.
