Who we are and what you get
South Carolina seafood… It’s your heritage. Your waterways and wildlife are vital for the state’s economy and when you buy regional, responsibly-captured or farm grown seafood, you support the local industry and sustainable seafood. The South Carolina Seafood alliance, a state association, was formed in 2000 to provide a central marketing tool for promoting South Carolina’s seafood industry.
From fishermen to merchandise suppliers to wholesalers to retailers to restaurants to consumers, members of the Alliance represent all aspects of the industry and all those who value, support and promote local production and consumption of local South Carolina seafood. Our goal is to market the amazing variety of seafood species and the suppliers, restaurants and distributors supporting these efforts.
Several new and innovative marketing initiatives have been implemented including a State branding and advertising campaign to encourage consumers to “ask for SC Certified” The Alliance is also initiating an aggressive grassroots campaign to support the local seafood communities as well as reach the masses.
